What Is High Blood Pressure ?


First, let`s define high blood pressure


When your blood pressure, the force of your blood pushing against the walls of your blood vessels is consistently too high, it is known as High Blood Pressure.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension) increases your risk of serious health problems. including heart attack and stroke.


High Blood Pressure is also knows as HBP or Hypertension.

You should know that most people with high blood pressure have no signs or symptoms. But there are some people with high blood pressure who may have :

There are two types of high blood pressure.

Primary (essential) hypertension and Secondary hypertension.

For most adults or elderly people, there is no identifiable cause of high blood pressure. Primary (essential) hypertension, tends to develop with time, over many years.

Secondary Hypertension


Secondary hypertension tends to appear suddenly and cause high blood pressure. Some health conditions and medications can lead to secondary hypertension, including :

  2. Thyroid problems
  3. Sleep apnea
  4. Adrenal gland tumors
  5. Congential in blood vessels
  6. Certain medications, such as birth control pills, cold remedies, pain killers and some prescription drugs.
