A vaccine up to 89 percent effective against new strains of corona virus is expected to be launched in India by June 2021.
In fact, pharmaceutical company Novavax Inc said a day earlier that its vaccine for Covid-19 was found to be 89 percent effective against new strains of the virus, based on preliminary findings from a study in the UK.
The company also claimed that its vaccine was also found to be effective in developing immunity against new strains of the virus spreading in Britain and South Africa.

Serum Institute of India (SII) is already producing the 'covidShield' vaccine, developed by Oxford University and the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca.
The Center has purchased 10 million doses of 'covidShield' vaccine for the ongoing vaccination campaign in the country.
The vaccination campaign against Covid-19 started across the country on January 16 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it would give priority to about three crore health workers and those working on the front against covid-19.
